Estancia Nabor lies in the tranquil foothills of the Andes Mountains in San Rafael, the southernmost wine region in Mendoza, Argentina. While the Malbec grape is king, San Rafael is also known for its Bordeaux style blends featuring Cabernet Sauvignon & Syrah. With an elevation at 2,800 feet, the vineyards at Estancia Nabor benefit from a substantial rain shadow by the Andes and use its snow melt for vine irrigation. Outside of the vineyard, San Rafael is a beautiful, community-oriented town, the perfect setting for the spirit of our wines.
Estancia Nabor Vineyards lie at the foot of the Andes in the idyllic province of San Rafael, Mendoza. Here the vines experience dramatic diurnal shifts and collect the purest water from the glacial mountain peaks, developing its impeccable fruit concentration. This luscious Malbec is full-bodied and bursting with notes of ripe plums, blackberries, and clove. After aging 12 months in French oak barrels, this wine displays a delicate harmony of mouth-watering acidity followed by supple tannins. Hand harvested with old world devotion, our classic Malbec wants to tell you the story of its terroir, inviting you to enjoy its long finish and stay awhile. The label illustrates the timeless style and architecture of the vineyard property.
Warm, sunny days and chilly nights allow for our Cabernet Sauvignon grapes to flourish amidst the stunning backdrop of the Andes mountains. Full-bodied with deep ruby hues, this wine expresses notes of cassis, ripe berries, green and black pepper, and chocolate. Its time in French oak creates an elegant mouthfeel with silky tannins and hints of baking spices. Our Cabernet Sauvignon was made to be paired with good food and shared with good company, to celebrate this life together. The label features many hands raising a glass to symbolize the beauty of community and friendship.
Nestled in the foothills of the Andes, our vineyards in San Rafael, Mendoza, tell us a love story. Our Malbec, thriving in the extreme temperature changes of the landscape, and our Syrah, enhancing its bright acidity in the high altitude, harmonize their strengths in French oak. These grapes, both dynamic in expression, create a complex, aromatic delight of bold ripe fruit, spices, and soft tannins. This wine was also inspired by another love story: Amador & Tranquelina Nabor, Paul’s great grandparents who immigrated to the United States from Mexico in 1899. They were madly in love for 32 years until Amador passed away in 1931. The label was also inspired by their love and devotion, featuring two figures embracing.
Have another glass and fall in love.
Estancia Nabor wines are made with you in mind. Our vineyards are managed free of pesticides & herbicides and produced with little to no intervention in the winemaking process. Our small scale, boutique operation allows our winemaking team to ensure the best care from harvesting to bottling. Through our natural approach, we wanted the fruit, terroir, and our gorgeous Andean landscape to speak for itself.
The first time our owner, Paul, traveled to Argentina in 2013, he had his first sip of Argentine Malbec making him a devout lover of the grape from then on. After polishing off this bottle, Paul wrote the well known phrase “Viva la Vida”, which has continued to be a life motto for him throughout many hardships in his life. He wanted this simple reminder of appreciating life to its fullest to serve as the spirit of Estancia Nabor. We wanted to make wines for life.
